The chickenpox vaccine is not part of the routine UK childhood vaccination programme. Some adults and parents choose to have the vaccine privately.

Since 1995, over 220 million doses of VARIVAX have been distributed worldwide. In a study, two doses of VARIVAX 3 months apart delivered 98% efficacy against chickenpox, and one dose gave 94% efficacy

The vaccine is suitable for those aged 12 months and above and can still provide protection if given within three days of exposure to chickenpox.

We offer the GARDASIL 9 vaccine for the prevention of cervical, vulvar, vaginal, and anal cancers caused by nine types of human papillomavirus (HPV) for women.

The vaccine also offers prevention of anal cancer caused by HPV for males.

Please note that women should still undergo recommended cervical cancer screening later in life even if they have had the vaccine.
